Well, I am going to present a dissenting view: Go. For the follwing reasons:

When you are in a relationship with someone, there has to be give and take. Put yourself in his shoes. Is he really looking forward to it? Does it mean alot to him? Would you want him to do something he wasn't thrilled about if it was important to you?

AND, I have often dreaded going to certain functions, but find that I usually have a good time once I am there. I just have been dreading the bother.

My opinion.

SM, though bare in mind, that it is hard for any of us to give you an accurate opinion. We don't you or your hudband, the nature of your relationship, the circumstances of the party, the people who attend, etc.

So, take what we say with a grain of salt. You are the best person with all the facts to decide.
