What is the difference between bows and crossbows? I was planning to use a bow with my elf, but crossbows do more damage. Are there any speed or accuracy differences?

I think re-load/re-fire rate is lower on a crossbow. It should be.

Ok, I'll test it out.

Yep, crossbows are slower. With a bow you get your full number of attacks in a round, while you only get one with the light crossbow (one shot for part of round, rest of round reloading). Heavier crossbow is even slower than that. If the crossbow is the only missile weapon you are proficient in, if you are a wizard/sorcerer (not many attacks per round), or just want to get a single shot off before closing to melee, crossbows are good. Otherwise, stick to bows, since the number of shots you get will increase damage potential much more than the crossbow.

I think things like lightening reflex and rapid shot also apply to the bow but don't apply to the crossbow. I think.
