Wanev's Tower...................possible spoiler

I have been here before, but am now redoing so I can do Wanev's quest. Had to go back and talk to Elaith Crowder. I had to kill the troll to cross the bridge to Wanev's Tower. Then it says I need a key to actually get into the tower. Don't remember where I got it before.

Please help. Thank you.

After you cross the bridge, turn to right and keep going until you get to a cave. There's a back door to the interior of wanev's keep and I believe that the key to the front door is in there as well, but don't remember for sure.

Talk to Elaith Craulnober. (Isn't he that elven dude in the tavern that needs the gems?) anyway, talk to The Serpent (that's his nickname) and get his quest to find the gems, and he will give you a key. Go into Wanev's house in Port Llast and use the key to get into the basement. Collect all of the components you find down there, and then go up another flight of stairs into his cottage kitchen. Mix the ingredients in the brazier (the recipe in in the chest found in the kitchen) and the brazier will then open a portal into Wanev's cottage lab. Go through the portal, and inside the lab you will find the wardstone that will allow you entrance inside Wanev's tower and will keep his guards from attacking you. Sound's simple, huh?
