Rapiers? Ever hear of 'em?

My big bad 1/2Orc Barbarian specialized in Great Axes and Double Axes got nice named weapons galore (Gruumsh Hand best among them). Great.

Meanwhile, my dual-wielding, Rapier specialist Rogue can't find a named rapier to save his life... I've received Flaming Swords, Ice Dagger (actually useful), Staffs, Axes, Maces left and right, as well as FOUR magical sickles (I forget the name, +1 ST, -1AC... ). I've farmed treasure troves for an hour getting wonderous items after wonderous items, and have not received a named rapier.

Arg!

Scrounge up some money. With some Fairy Dust, you can take a magical rapier to a smith. The smiths in the game are found in Chap. 1 and 3. The chap. 1 smith is in the Shining Knight Arms and Armor in a secret room, and the chap. 3 smith is in the Trading Post. If you pay the smith and put the Fairy Dust and rapier on the anvil, talk to the smith and tell him you want him to make an item for you. It will cost a lot of money though! If you do, he will make a Namarra Rapier for you. Another type of Rapier that I found once was a Blackrider's Quill. Try getting the feat Weapon Focus: Rapier. That way, more magic rapiers will appear in the game.

If you take the feat Weapon Focus and choose rapier, you will start to find magical rapiers more often. It just lets the game know what weapon you're using.

i think the required element for Namarra is dragons blood, not faerie dust.

Yes, there's a great axe recipe in chapter 3. The forge recipes are the same in chapter 1 and 3, just slightly stronger versions of the weapon. If you made something in chapter 1, you can do the same in 3.
