I had my first crash with D 3.0 in trenton. It was the hunter and npc data could not be found. I don't think this one happens all the time. I think it was like the Ratus Ratus crash. Sometimes the npc data can't be found and other times it was fine. I have not been able to get a grip on Madgods editor, not very savy that way so I am going to try and enter trynton from the swamp and avoid the hunter.

It sounds like the files are in the wrong place. The error message will usually tell you where the file should be.

It does I just can't seem to get madgods editor to work to fix it, so I started a new game and will see if it repeats itself.

I am having this same problem in that when i come to Trynton the region loads up ok but as soon as i attempt to cross the bridge into Trynton itself the game crashes and i get the following message.

Error. You are viewing a message intended for the developers of Wizardry 8. Please report the following information to technical support. We apologise for this inconvenience.

Debug assertion in module C:\Projects\Wizardry 8\Local Code\MonsterGroup ccp line 1885 failed.

Expression [FALSE] evaluates to false.

MonsterGroupCalcDefaultDisposition: Monster species 643(Lanhorn the hunter) NPC data not found

Has anyone else seen this or have any clue what the message is referring to?

There is a hunter who you used to fight in trynton in DS 2.1 he just wonders around. I tried going down the waterfall and around but that didn't work either. I started a new game to see if is will happen again because I can't get madgods editor to work. If it happens again I will try and go in through the swamp which means going to Mount Gigus first or the mountain wilderness and a lot of running.

I had the same problem when entering Trynton. If you can get the editor to work call up the character in question using the Monster editor. In the upper left there is a box checked next to NPC. I unchecked that box, saved the data and was then able to enter Trynton.

I have a 'patch' for the problem that I have emailed Wolfie...Hopefully he can get it up soon.

If someone is familiar with the MadGod editor though the simple fix is to uncheck the 'npc data' in Lanthorn's monster entry (then accept) and turn his 'script' in the Trynton location to 'default' or 'closepatrol' instead of a speaking role (then accept) and then save and exit the editor. It seems that his speech was triggering the same time the Rapax Assault party was and causing an error.

Thank you for the alert and your time...
