Gettin Edwin

I need help!

I decided that i wanted a change and took up bodhi's offer instead of the shadow thieves, but then remembered i cant get edwin anymore!

Anyoneone know of a way to get him without talking to renal bloodscalp?

He's really cool and i need another mage!

Have you tried looking in The Copper Coronet on the stairs?
Sometimes he reappears there for no reason, even after you are supposed to have lost him (coding error perhaps?).

No, the only (legitimate) way to get him is to do the whole Bloodscalp-Mae'Var guild thing.

That is correct. If you go through the Bloodscalp quest and don't take Edwin into your party, he will show up at the Copper Coronet; but not until that time.
