I get down there (not immidiatly, went the ship way) and buy the 4 freedom scrolls from the Duergar, and I go off, a little message down in the info box says Drow are arming up, i go invisible 10 ft radius, make my way up near the gates, killing some Kuo toa because they attack even if invisible. I get attacked by some drow, take their stuff, go upwards and a drow runs off and the gates are locked. I go to the cave below, and it won't let me in cause its to dark. So I go explore, cross a bridge and kill more Kuas. I enter this cave, the mind flayers, I go halfway in, they appear, knock me unconscience and now I'm entertainment. I've escaped now, and have some serum. So heres some questions:
1. what do I need to get into the dragons cave?
2. Can I escape without killing the elder brain or do I need to kill it?
3. What is the serum for?

I am a paladin (undead hunter) w/ the holy avenger or heartseeker, I have Jaheria, Minsc ( lilarcor or 3+ drow sword), Viconia, Jan (with lots of kutoan and drow bolts) and Edwin with Staff of Magi + 4 and ring of gax.

If I have to fight my way through, what kind of summons are best at not being sucked of their brains?

1.You need to help the deep gnomes in their village. help their chief destroy a monster they uncovered (like LoR [img]tongue.gif[/img] ), then use a scroll to cover the big pit, then he gives you a Light Gem.
2.The elder brain inside the drow city? the one that says he will reveal you? just do what he says, do his quest. its not hard. I think he will reveal you if you dont help him.
3.Serum? No idea.

1. Talk to the svirneblins
2. kill it
3. makes you immune to piosonics IIRC

1. Once you get out from the Mind Flayer lair, go up to the north-western parts of the Underdark.

2. Yes, you have to kill it.

3. As Annatar said, immunity to psionics. If we're talking about the same serum. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Also, the best summon vs. Mind Flayers are Mordekainen's Swords.

In response to your last question, I think that skeleton warriors and mordy's swords would work...last time I went through, I had a fallen planetar (solo sorc), so I can't remember exactly. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Well I said the elder brain because those who boarded the ship, were there, and we helped each other to escape, and I have to fight my way out. So would it ruin any quests if I kill them all off, or would it be better to escape?

How do you use the serums then? It can't be in a quickslot, and it has not option to drink, so does it just help to have them? Also is there any spell for psionic immunity?

No, there's no spells that gives you psionics-immunity, but there are potions.
Also, then we aren't talking about the same serum. Do you have the exact name of the item? Perhaps you're talking about the tadpoles...

No I don't, but from where you're jailed, theres a path that leads to a room with 6 or 7 little pools around the edge with one mind flayer guarding. But I think it may be for slave machines or something.
