After reading a thread about spoilers in the Throne of Bhaal Forum, I started to wonder what people actually do when they see a spoiler tag after I saw Xen's reply. Do you just go on and continue to read the spoiler even if you havn't completed the game? Or do you immediately stop to not spoil the game? Or anything else? I just got curious

:edit: I, myself, only read game spoilers. Even then, it's only when I have no particular interest in the topic.

Heh, I usually only read the first line, but sometimes it's only one line, that means I'm screwed
Nah, if it's a topic I'm interested in and need I'll read the first or first few sentances carefully to see if I'm spoiling to much

I give the post a rough skim over first. If it seems spoiled to me I forget what I saw.

I read it anyway, because the way I see it, I'll learn about it eventually anyway

I stop and go the other way. I hate knowing ahead of time what will happen. It robs me of the thrill of the hunt, so to say.

If it's BG2 I don't hesitate as there's nothing I could be spoiled with plotwise and if there was I certainly won't have found it myself the 16th time through. Also it's often a plot-based problem and I feel compelled to help as others - more easily spoiled - won't read it. Come to think of it I like to pick topics with 0 or only 1 replies

Same here. Threads with a double-digit post count seem to me like a room full of people, all discussing the same topic. It's attained enough opinion to be sufficient; plus, there's usually too much to read through

The shorter, or newer posts, are where I tend to go. They are, to me, fresh ideas that need scream for recognition. Also, I never like it when one of my posts streamlines past page 1 and into IW history with little more than two replies, so I try to establish a bond saying "the time you took to write this is appreciated."
