Well here's the thing, I'm in the underdark and I've just completed the third (I think) task Phaere has given me.
Well now she asks me to rest for a few days and then come back and talk to her, but each time I try to rest the game crashes. So I can't sleep anywhere in the Underdark, and note this only occur in the Underdark. So my question is, is there anyway I can change the time/date in a saved game?

Eight hours in-game is about 45 minutes in real time. Don't know if it works but you could try just leaving your game on for a few real time hours and then try.

Just go immediately, the game will work. Youll have to rush to get through the underdark without resting at all though.

Does resting in a tavern also crashes your game?

Yes resting in a tavern also crashes the game. Trust me, I've tried everything
And Rataxes, I'm sorry it didn't work I guess Pharae's fourth task is only triggered by restng. So I guess I'm down to my old idea to change the date/hour in the saved game... |

I suspected that it was a triggered event, I think the best you can do back-up the saved file, re-install BG2 and all your fixpacks + patches, and then see if you can rest in peace. If not, then re-install again and try it without patching it.

I can confirm that the quest isn't triggered by Resting--I once burned through the game, Resting only ONCE in all of Chapters 1-5 (although the boat ride to Brynnlaw is essentially a free Rest).
Just kill a few hours whacking monsters; hey, the beasties and Drow in the Tavern are there for your amusement, aren't they?
