Hi all,
Maybe this has already been discussed on this forum so forgive me in advance for asking again. I was so excited about playing Ice Wind Dale (...currently in the Dragon's Eye Chapter, area 4) that I purchased Baldur's Gate II. After the install I launched a game and noticed that my green charatcer position markers move about a 1/2" from where I originally selected my party to move to (...in group mode only). All other positioning modes work well. Anybody have ideas on this for a "fix", or have encountered this same problem? It is somewhat annoying, though the game is still VERY playable and I am looking forward to the adventure. Thanks for any help with this ------------------ Saberlayne ~(---- Order of Blayde |

Just as a friendly respnose of some type, sorry, I have not enocuntered that. If it is not included on the patch for BG II, maybe the installation of ToB will help your problem.

I think you are seeing the effect of the formations relative to your character. If you are in two columns of threes, with you leading, then the point you select for the move tells the front two to center themselves on it. On the circle 6 formation, the move point is the center of the circle.
At least, I hope that this is what you were talking about... ------------------ Be careful! I think it's a tr... |

Larry_OHF, your sentiment is appreciated, thank you
Leonidas, well, not exactly, let me try to explain a bit further. In IceWind Dale I can select any formation (of 6 characters) and right click on the screen and either set that position or rotate the markers then set that position. After I release the mouse button the green markers stay in that position, unless of course there is something in the way. In BGII under the same circumstances the green markers literally "hop" over about a 1/2" from where I released the mouse button. It doesn't seem to matter what the conditions are... very frustrating for setting up my characters with any sort of accuracy. The only formation that doesn't do that on is a single line of 6, or clicking and placing individual charcters (...one at a time), and as you know, that can hinder your strategic moves in battle. Thanks for your responses thus far ------------------ Saberlayne ~(---- Order of Blayde |
