What do I think of Kobe? Hmm, well I think he's an overpaid athlete just like most pro athletes. Alot more people, especially children, are starving or undereducated. They wear ragged clothes and are malnourished. I really don't like watching sports just to pay the atheletes when I can instead be spending my money for those in real need of money. I am not a athlete worshipper. I admire those who are in the service professions, helping those who need help. Athletes?! Bah! As far as Kobe's problems, I don't know if he did rape her, but I really feel sorry for his wife. What the hell was he thinking? Adultery. Cheating on his wife. No I don't feel sorry for him. Maybe this will deflate his pompous ego down to earth.

So you're blaming him for being way better than most other players, and that therefore the clubowner is willing to pay him a big fat salary ? And that large companies are willing to give him millions in endorsements if he wears their stuff, or drinks their stuff ?

Is it his fault that children in Africa have nothing to eat, or only have rags to wear ?

For your information, Kobe makes millions a year, but he is also spending tons on charity. So your comment isn't really fair, don't you think ?

I hear that Wayne Gretzky absolutely refused to get into situations like this. For instance, he would not ever let himself be alone in an elevator with a woman he didn't trust, just in case some golddigger saw the chance to make a few bucks.

Except in England, where the government is trying to change the law so that the man has to prove the woman consented, instea dof her having to prove she didn't.

Wonderful British government, eh?

I think there's gonna be a trial, unless the alledged victim goes the Micheal Jackson's alledged victim's route and drops charges for a nice fee.

Imo that would prove that she's nothing but a shark. If she's REALLY raped, she'd take this all the way.
*snif* *snif* Nope, this doesn't pass either the sniff or the straight-face test. A 19-yr-old letting such high principals cut her off from millions in recovery. Riiiight. Let us assume he DID do it (which I think is untrue): then she cannot UN-do it, can she? So, she can have the moral satisfaction of seeing him in jail for 4 years (he'd get the minimum being a first-time offender, famous, rich, and a nice guy), or she can pay for college and finance the rest of her LIFE for a few million in settlement. Hmmm.... I would hope she'd be smart enought to take the money and run.

If she didn't do it.... well, then we're back to gold-digging aren't we.

We rarely hear the same accustations pointed to victims of murder and other violent crimes.
I realize there are touchy issues on both sides of this. There are real victims every day. By the time you finish reading this post, 3 women in America will have been raped. But, there are also sharks out there who take advantage of these situations -- and more of them everyday.

You know, I'd be a lot less pushy if I could just get back to Bi-Ti island!!! That spa you put in is REALLY relaxing!!!
Tell me about it. Even after Oasis is back up, it'll take me a week of chlorination and algaecide to get the frogs and fungus out of the pool at the spa. We're pushing back our shoot dates because of these problems. Oprah has threatened that the Oxygen network may not carry the show if delays continue.

I don't think you should blame the athlete. If you want to blame someone point the finger at the owners or the agents. They are the ones that deal with the money. Athlete's are just people who have dedicated their lives to something they love, just like someone in a service profession you mentioned. Some people are blessed with a big heart or a super intellect, and some are blessed physically. Should they be denied the opportunity to use their god given talents to make themselves and other people happy? And when it comes to all that money I haven't heard of an athlete who doesn't donate to charity. Look at Dikembe Mutumbo, he's donated 3.5 million dollars of his own money to help build a hospital in Kinshasa, Congo. Things like that happen and they don't get publicized. But if something negative happens it's all over the news, even if it is only an allegation.

I heard that the girl involved with Kobe was on the American Idol show not to long ago and when she didn't win she blew up and had a big breakdown. Another of the girls said she was "unstable". Anyone else hear about this?
