They're filming part of "The Night We Called It A Day" in my apartment!!

It's a film about Frank Sinatra's tour of Australia in 1974. They needed an apartment to film in which had a view of the Harbour Bridge that hadn't changed since 1974, and our apartment (and the one next door) fit the bill.

They're doing most of the filming in the other apartment, since they need to make some changes to walls, etc and we couldn't authorize actual changes to our apartment, but they'll be doing some filming on our balcony as well as storing most of their equipment here.

They'll be filming a scene with Portia De Rossi (of Ally McBeal and Sirens fame) and Dennis Hopper. Don't know how long it's going to be, but the shoot is scheduled for the whole day. Melanie Griffiths is also starring in the film, but I don't think she's shooting this particular scene (damn!).

And the price to rent it out to them for one day? $2000 smackeroos, straight into the pocket!! To let them have the run of the place from 6 am to 6 pm. I'm going to be away from Sydney that day anyway so it's easy money...but I might hang around the morning (they're coming at 6 am this Saturday) to catch a glimpse and say g'day to Miss de Rossi... Actually, they never said I couldn't watch it...but I'd imagine you couldn't stand around while people are shooting though...
