Dating rut!

OK! This is getting ridiculous! I moved here about a year ago and I have been having a HELL of a time meeting eligible women my age. I got out of the military and moved back to my home town. It's like, all of a sudden, everyone's married! WTF! I was having more luck when I came back to the same area on leave when I was in the military. I could find a cute single girl who wanted to have dinner pretty easily 2-3 years ago. I'm stumped as to what's going on. It's like my dating pool has shrunk down to nothing! I see quite a few free girls under my age group. I don't have much luck with girls under the age of 26. They're just too young. A 32 year old guy with a child and a past marriage just doesn't hold much magic for most cute single women 25 and younger. They lose interest when they find out I can't do something at a moments notice. It's a little too much when you're supposed to be young and care free. Here's a thought. Someone told me that the late twenties are when most people get married and that it's harder to find dates after that age. Is this the truth? If so, AAAARRRRRGGGGHHH!!!! Maybe I should try to find something a bit more serious than casual dating. I mean really! I've only been dating a few years since the divorce. Can anyone confirm the scary theory that it's harder to date the further you get from your twenties, or is this just a natural lull in the dating pool that sometimes happens? If so, I'm going to need to start putting a little more effort into relationships. Maybe there will be some single women when I start night school in February?

Sorry to hear that buddy. Where are you looking for girls? The places you would go before you were in the service will undoubtedly net you girls the age you were before you joined the service.

I just have to get networked with a circle of freinds again. It just kind of freaked me out the number of girls I meet that are already married or engaged. It's the age group I tell you. Here's an example. I'm in the local hang out and spy this cute girl I used to work with when I was a teen. About my age, and a sweet personality. I get the look and the smile and move over to talk with her. We get a good conversation started and I'm thinking it's all good. All of a sudden I feel someone behind me and she's looking over my shoulder all worried. Well, who should be behind me but her husband/fiance/boyfreind/whatever, and he's throwing a FIT! He's about a foot shorter and skinny and throwing a drunken tantrum like a kid. Well, she chases off to console him and I'm sitting confused. While she's consoling him she looks at me again. I'm not sure how involved they are, so I make a motion to ask for her phone number. She smiles and thinks for about a full minute before shaking her head no. I shrug my shoulders and move on. This type of thing is happening to me constantly. It's like, nobody is available. Well, maybe it's time to try for the younger girls. I'm on a diet to lose the roll in the middle and back on weight training again. I guess I have to compete with the young bucks in their early twenties.

It is harder than every to find good girls! Even harder to get them to stick around. Some people just want the easy relationships, where every little thing is perfect. I can be talking to a sweetie and think things are going great, but as soon as I tell the her I'm married, she seems to lose interest. What the heck is going on with that? J/K [img]smile.gif[/img]

Honesty, after my first marriage ended, I felt really "out of touch" with the single world. Dating was really scary! The circles I used to run in were gone, I didn't want to go clubbing (that's for the young folks), and it seemed to be me against the world. I found the right girl quite by accident. She was a friend of a girl at work who thought we'd make a couple. I doesn't matter how many bad blind dates you've had if just one works out right. The rest, as they say, is history.

My experience has always been that you find love when and where you least expect it.

I'm trying the blind date thing. It's not working too well right now. Half the time the girl chickens out at the last minute. Someone tried to set me up with this woman. It winds up that she actually lives a couple states away and only comes here to visit her parents! WTF was he thinking! I know what you mean about the out of touch thing. I was like that for about a year or so. Not her though. You see, she started dating again while we were still married! That was the problem!

Hey! Here's another rant! I'm pulling up my email and get mail from someone claiming to have interest in my singles ad and picture. I reply and she sends me a link to see what she looks like. I pull up the link and it's to her porn site where I can watch her play with 18 inch you know whats in her you know where! I'm at work dammit! I can get in trouble for pulling up crap like this! It isn't the first time it's happenned either. I guess singles ads are a target for porn advertisement, huh? My inbox is full of nasty ads for nasty sites now. You know, the girls sites I can handle. It's the perverse ads that tick me off. I swear, yesterday I get this mail telling me to got to this link to see GRANDPARENTS giving lessons to their GRANDCHILDREN!!!!

My ex-wife dated the same guy almost the whole time we were married! I always found it touching that she could be faithful to just us two guys

Well, I got an e-mail the other day from a woman who said she'd seen my singles ad - well, I haven't GOT a singles ad. This disturbed me greatly - needless to say I didn't click the link.
If I find someone has set up a singles ad with my e-mail address as a joke I will be very annoyed (BTW it's not the address I use here, so I guess you lot are in the clear!)

I got the same one, much uncontrollable shuddering and dry heaving later, I blocked the sender. the problem arises from people who don't read terms of service agreements (most of us, me included) when we sign up for just about anything online, most of the time companies have no problem selling your e-mail addy to whoever will pay for it, as a result i have a very large number of e-mail addy's I have blocked from my personal e-mail
