All right, I desperately need a good, free anti-virus program to download somewhere. My computer has been behaving so strangely of late that I've come to the conclusion that I must have picked up a virus somewhere. Now I'm desperately trying to find an anti-virus program but can't find any! Help!

Norton Antivirus protects me, since I installed it, I have had no virus problems. You can domnload it at www.symantec.com/downloads/

You know I was about to tell him that but you've beaten me to the punch... Kaz if you have the Nimda virus on your cpu the new Norton will not repair it. You'll have to quarintine it or deltete it. I would get rid of any infected files if I were you.

Kazlein ! What a pleasure to "see" you again !

I asked Wolfgir for you on MSN as he is IW's leading anti-virus expert and here is what he said:

quote:
Wolfgir sagt:
Hmm I can´t get into the GD area.. My IE is messing. Tell her to go look for Panda Antivirus, a free tool that is really good!
Wolfgir sagt:
tell her to go to www.versiontracker.com to look for it there or some called platinum.

I hope that will prove to be helpful ...

Good luck and please, don't forget to purr for us from time to time !

Kaz's problems still haven't been solved, this is because her browser isn't exactly working optimally so it's a bit difficult for her to get online and download Panda herself, it's too big to mail to her and either her Firewall or something else in her computer dosen't seem to like MSN or AIM file transfers.

Kazlein: how about the following ? Tomorrow go to a press shop/book shop with a comprehensive choice of special interest magazines - in Germany the bookstores in the central stations usually offer that - and check the myriad of computer and gaming magazines for the contents of the enclosed cds with "utilities". You should have no problem finding several with the latest versions of shareware anti-virus programs like Panda on them ...

Good luck !
