Last Sat. I rented MoH:Frontline, and managed to get pretty far in terms of missions. Just the other day, however, I came to one in particular that I couldn't get past. It's not the level is hard, but one of the mission objectives can not be completed. It's just impossible. I'm supposed to destroy 2 tanks, yet only 1 appears. I've tried the level twice now, and have been to an online walkthrough that says it's supposed to be where I'm looking, but nada.

My question is, should I be given a full refund for this defective game?

Remember Nano, you "rented" the game remember? That means others have too and along the lines somebody probably tampered with it.

Obviously. But if I'm the first one to rent it since the disc was damaged, and I tell them the next time I visit, they should remove the game from their shelves. If I'm not, and someone has mentioned this before, then that's bad business.

they may not believe you that someone else damaged it, and they might think that it was you. If they think that, then what would you do???

I'd never place blame to begin with, just point out the fact that the game was defective. If they accused me of damaging the CD, I'm fine with that, they have a right to their opinion, but if they fine me for it, then they'll have a lawsuit on their hands.

I'm not sure on the rules of such a situation, but by the time you rented the game I'm sure they more than doubled the profit to cost ratio and can easily afford a new copy without threatening with fines. That and there case would only have circumstantial evidence to back it up. That doesn't often hold up that well. As far as being entitled to a refund, perhaps, perhaps not. Tell them the problem you encountered and that you think the problem may be caused by damaged merchandise and you would like to have your copy replaced with a working copy.

It's probably something that needs to be patched. Just give it a try, what have you got to lose ?

Er, sorry johnny. This is an Xbox game, so no way of patching it.

show them the evidence of the defunct thing, and then show them what the game should be really like. then you'll get a refund. they'll have no say.
