welcome to the board the both of you... IMHO i would take keldorn mainly because he has the best dispel magic you could ask for The Carsomyr is nice, but his dispel magic is a lifesaver

I must defend Anomen here! Here's why -
He can reach up to level 22 by the endgame, which is a pretty high point. His poor stats are irrelevant if you trick him out properly - he just needs Gauntlets of Dexterity and a Belt of Strength. Besides, his power lies mainly in his huge repertoire of Cleric spells. Who needs a strength belt when he can repeatedly cast Call Holy Might?? Who needs a high dexterity when the enemy is powerless against your Sanctuary? Your main enemies in the game are mostly Undead and Demonic. A Cleric has several natural advantages- Holy Smite and the incinerating Holy Bolt are great, especially when Anomen gets up past level 20. He can take a Dragon out by himself. In the endgame, you'll see the advantages of this. When facing lesser Undead, he can Turn them, as well. Not to underestimate the natural uses of Clerical magic in combat - Heals, Rezzing and Restoration are just priceless. His main drawback is his (rather dull) Quest, and his personality problems. But if you think he's sickening, just try Haer'Dalis. *puke* After he began to spout poetry at Aerie, I had my monk do him with a poisoned magic ninja-to. "A solid hit!" was the word as chunky bits of bard went spinning. Yeah! |
