I'm early in the game Chapt 2 and picked up some rings and collars with magical properties but when my characters wear them I don't see the magical resistances on their portraits.

I bought that Dark sling with immunity to disease and a worg collar with resistances but can't tell if those magical properties are active or not.

Do I need to active these items somehow?

You don't need to activate them...if you go to the records screen (the one where you see XP and stuff) and click on the top buttons and search for it, you can see your resistances.

Hmm I did go through all my stats but I don't see those resistances listed.

Now I'm wondering if I need to have to meet certain minimum conditions for those things to be activated.

I gave my drow wizard that dark sling with disease immunity but all she seems to have is cold resistance.

Very odd and I've got the latest patches.

Yep i have heard about this before it happened to me on my game. SInce the resistances do not show on your picture you have to look in your character sheet. BUT it does not come up there either....i was afriad that they were not working ether but i supposed they were. IWD2 has a lot of stupid things in it like the EXP thingie....it can be stupid like that sometimes. I dont think it is a bug and if you have the patch then the game is just liek that.

Thanks I guess I just have to live with it.

Since this is sort of an obvious thing I wonder if Interplay knew about it but decided not to bother trying to fix it.

I mean it probably works but just not the display. Probably more hassles than it was worth tyring to fix it from Interplay's point of view.

As far as the weapons, whatever it offers won't appear unless that weapon is the active weapon at the time. For instance, I have a Wizard who got some staff which raises intelligence 3 points. So I equip the staff before copying spells to my spellbook, to get the bonus, but as soon as I equip her normal weapon, her intelligence returns to normal. So that may be the deal with the weapons. Not to mention that I don't know if there is an icon for Disease Immunity-- after all, I don't think Paladins get such an indicator when they reach the level where they acquire it. Maybe I'm wrong-- my paladin has a couple of levels to go to get it.

As for the collars-- the only one I'm familiar with atm is the Worg collar that makes you immune to Entangle. If I put it on my monk and send him into a collection of baddies so that they swarm him, then have my druid and ranger cast Entangle right on the monk, the status window says "Immune to the effects of Entangle" every time the spell tries to entangle her (and of course she is free to get out of range of the pots of flaming oil that everyone else is going to be throwing on the entangled bad guys ), but otherwise there is no indication that it is active, which I find to be quite normal. Is it possible that the collar(s) you have are similar, in that their effect is not of the type for which there would reasonably be an indication?
