Ain't it lovely? Seriously though folks, I'm glad we are starting to shift to being more independant on water.

Its a pride thing. We'd rather be drinking our recycled water rather than Malaysian water. Even though we take a certain perverse joy in buying their water, purifying it and then selling it back to them, its still good that those bastards on the other side of the causeway can't threaten our nation anymore by cutting off our water supply.

Yeah it is good to have some independance...but what happens if the purification system breaks down even once? The water people drink will be straigh from the potty....ugh ick and ack even.....definate yuck factor there.

The water is going to be pumped into the reservoirs first, which goes through another purifying process.

*poke* *poke*

If I was feeling a bit more patriotic, I would be offended, but be careful with your words.

I have a Singaporean IC... but a Malaysian passport.

No National Service, you lucky bastard.

Anyway, yes I agree, at least we won't have to depend on the Malaysians so much. The reason why 'newater' (newater = 'new water' get it? *groan*) has to be pumped into reservoirs is because the minerals have been removed during the filtering process and it tastes flat so it needs to be 'mixed' with reservoir water. Anyway, its gone through 2 years worth of tests so it should be safe. The only problem is the psychological factor involved when your drinking water which you flushed down a few days ago.

Not quite. If I want to keep my PR status, I need to serve NS. I look forward to it though, crazy as it may seem to others.

If you think this is bad, wait till you sample the 'vegetables' they serve to you in NS. According to my friend in there, they ain't even sure if they are vegetables. It seems the meat is good though.
