I never played as a Barbarian, and I'm planning on giving a try on it. I read about his advantages, such as rolling d12 instead of d10, faster movement rate, immunity to backstab, barbarian rage and damage resistances at higher levels. However, the inability to wear full plate, no kits and no advanced weapon specialization are what hold me back. If you guys already played as a Barbarian, please give me some advice. Thanks in advance!

are an added bonus. Look at the other side of specialization. If you can only put two in each spot, you can use at least two more weapons proficiently. There is still a lot of good armor other than plate. I enjoyed playing the couple that I did. |

I would play a barbarian sooner than a ranger (other than archer), but a straight fighter or kensai would be far stronger than any barbarian. Still, it might be an interesting character to RP.

Kitty,
try a berserker ? gets the enrage benefits of that BARB, can use any armour, and can go to grand mastery in melee weapons - downsides are can only be proficient in missile weapons (maybe use throwing weapons such as azuredge instead) and the 'winded' status after the rage. Kez |

Barbarians are very animalistic... They sure make a very good fighting class (not kit) so I'd recommend them to you, especially half-orc barbarians, they rock and rock and rock...

Her name was Namara, and she really kicked ass with grandmastery in 2 handed swords and 2 stars in two weapon fighting style - she swung those huge weapons as if they were short swords. A really powerful character, indeed. The things that tempted me to use the barbarian were mainly the benefits of the barbarian rage such as immunity to level drain, maze and mind attacks. Unlike the berserker's rage, it doesn't confer immunity against imprisonment - however, there are few enemies who can cast it. |

let me get this straight Kitty. you used 2 two-handed swords at the same time. didnt know you could do that, in fact, im fairly convicned u cant. if im wrong, my deepest apologies, but i dont think that's possible. and about the question, berserkers are much better, and much more fun IMHO. but as stated before, do which ever u think you'd have more fun with.
