There is the Adventurer's Mart in Waukeen's Promenade or the barkeep in the Copper Coronet or there is a Armourer/Fletcher in Waukeen's Promenade, a couple of levels 'up' from the adventurer's mart, or there is depending on where you are at in the game, the thieves guild in the docks district. These are all pretty much the same for selling items, but they do have different stuff to offer for sale.

There are also street merchants in most of the areas of the city.
SPOILER - - - - You will get a better price for the item, if the merchant does not have that item in stock. Thus, if you sold a short sword +1 to a merchant that was already selling short swords +1, the merchant would buy the items at lower price than a merchant who was not selling that item. Also if you sold a short sword +1 to a merchant and later came back to that merchant to sell another short sword +1, the price that you can sell the short sword would be lower than it was when you sold the first sword. Try to sell your items to merchants that do not have those items in their stock to get the best price for your items. ------------------ All the world is a stage and we are all actors playing our parts. Most merchants will buy almost anything you have; however, if the value of the item is low, the merchant will not buy them. I know that the merchants will not buy normal slings and quarter staffs. It might be the same with your axes and bows.
