I'm currently soloing a half elf sorceror and one thing that is infuriating me is my inability to detect secret doors. Is there any way around this problem?

if you've got either a ferret or a rabbit as a familiar then it can detect traps i understand (although i've never tried it)
other than that you just have to wait it out as far as i know |

You always can detect them, though your chance is poor as sorcerer and certainly with low Wis (in PnP that is). Just stand there an be patient on till the random generator is kind to you.

High INT (IIRC) will help to detect secret doors faster.So the only solution is to use potions of genious/mind focusing.
Mages have the worst secret door detection ability and as a Half-Elf you don't get any racial bonus for this ability. |
