Minor spamming here.

I have a thread in GD about upgrading the video card on my brand new machine to increase my NWN performance. I'm terribly impatient and want to upgrade SOON, but I need your input to help decide.

Here's a link. Any help will be greatly appreciated

I can't help too much Ron, because I went for the 4400 Ti AND XP and the 512 Ram. The combination is sweet . I suggest you go the video card first but - gotta love those graphics.

I wish I'd done a bit more research before I'd ordered mine in May, but I've never had a game that suffered from a underpowered video card before, so I figured the recommended would be more than adequate on a nice machine like the one I ordered.

I didn't expect the best graphics card in the world, but I did think the one I got would play any current games smoothly.

Oh well, live and learn

Without knowing your other specs it's a bit difficult. For very good game performance - Ram you want a minimum 256 if you have Windows 2000 - 512 if you have windows XP, vid card you wnat a minimum GeF3Ti, processor something that is P4 1.7 or higher.

Well, I'm running the game on 450 mhz processor, with a GeForce2 mx400 64 mb video card and 256 ram and i have XP. the game runs pretty smoothly! the specs you're talking about would run it flawlessly, i would think.

Davros, ya you are right but that is overkill for any game out there right now. Not to mention it would cost quite a bit of money especially with the P4 (garbage).

Kanri, since you said it was a new computer chance are you bought something like a dell or hp. If that is the case they have a tendency of putting tons of crap in your comp and thats what is slowing it down. Everytime I work on them I always format the harddrive and start over. Its a guaranteed speed increase everytime.
