I'm kinda with VulcanRider on this one, he's blaming it on the cat so he doesn't look like an idiot. Bet his dog ate his homework too

They ran them through a clothes dryer, dropped them so as to land on the hammer, butt, muzzle etc. in an effort to get the pistol to fire. None of the modern weapons could be induced to fire. I believe they were successful with an old government colt modified to be more sensitive, but nothing else.
That sound like the kind of info a gun mag would post to fight back against gun regulation, in my opinion.

I think the srouce is biased.

If you don't pull the hammer back a strong enough impact on it can set a firearm off, well if the saftey is off..

So he left his gun on a counter with the saftey off... A realy bright individual.

Maybe there was a reason why the cat was trying to kill him? Perhaps he was doing naughty stuff to the poor animal. If so, that is pretty discusting!

Fortunately, my cats have nothing to fear!! (except when I am drinking...nope, not even then!!)

I'm with VulcanRider and Ladyzekke on this one, I think the guy was messing around with it himself and just doesn't want to admit he was that careless or stupid.

A friend of mine posted on this topic last week. Apparently, every gun manufactured since the 1950s is designed so that it *won't* go off if you drop it. From his perspective, one of three things happened:

1. The guy shot himself
2. Someone else shot him
3. He bought a really cheap and crappy pistol by a knock-off manufacturer.

I'm waiting for Paul Harvey with the rest of the story...

Officially anyway. Apart from the army. And some of the Police. Perhaps MI5/MI6. Oh and various asorted criminals....
Hey I think I'm the only one without a gun!
