Did my first ever 25 man raid ever!

Lavi - here's my Armory. The new items are 1 ring that dropped off Malchezzar and the thowing wep from the satyr demon (Illhoof).

I missed out on the tokens this run as I didn't fully understand how our points system worked lol, my GM practically begged me to take an item as I didn't volunteer for anything (first time noob mistake).

After a few more runs I should be able to get more hit. I specced out of ShS into Hemo Swords for this and even though my AP dropped from 1850 to 1580, my DPS increased to about 600 from 520 (prob due to DW). But I think I'll spec back into Combat again (21/40/0) as the Sub talents are pretty much useless (many mobs immune to Sap and CS, etc). Only downside is having to use SS again which is 40 energy vs Hemo which is 35 and losing the hemo debuff.

For PvE, combat swords is the way to go.

And yeah, just keep going through Kara and you'll gear up fast!

Out of curiosity, how much DPS are your T6 rogues doing raid buffed Lavi? Are they cracking 2K or are you locks still on top?

Well, locks are usually top to be honest.

It all depends on the fight...

Say against Brutallus, which is a DPS race, we hit around 2.3kdps average, Depending on curses etc, and luck with burns.

The duel glaived rogues can hit about the same, the non glaived ones maybe 2.1 or so. I'm away for a bit now, but ill post some WWS logs from next week on if you want to see.

But some fights locks are top, some its rogues. All depends Some its hunters.

I've seen my DPS range on Brut kills from 1.8k to 2.8k. Crit is all RNG at the end of the day.

Surprised that there aren't more mages on top - I thought they were *the* spell DPS class.

Lol, this is really so far wrong you wouldn't believe.

Mages just can't compete with Warlocks when it comes to DPS. Take equal gear , warlocks will be anywhere from 300-600 dps higher. Just the way it works. Mages get portals, sheep, frost nova's, 2 forms of threat reduction,biscuits....their utility comes at the price of DPS.

So no, mages are never anywhere near on a straight nuke fight.

It's from an SK Gaming Terron kill.... Now, SK are the best guild in the world, but you can kinda see the spread of the DPS. The top 8 classes is either Rogue/Hunter/Warlock. Mages get pwned.

Plus Terron is a very short fight at this DPS level, take a longer fight and normal gear, the mage just hits mana problems like a brick wall. Warlocks get life tap

And just as comparison to show how imba geared these guys are, I can hit 2.5k on Terron. Lol.

LOL obviously I haven't gone on too many raids.

It does make sense though - mages have a lot more CC than locks (although fear is a CC, i doubt you would want to fear some trash mob in a raid and aggro many other trash mobs accidentally).

Fear just isn't used in raids, you're right.

Unless there is a real bad pull and its a last resort....

OK, I'm going into the Eye tonight - first time ever. Any suggestions? I'll read up on Wikipedia but I'd love to hear some feedback from the experts.

Well, the eye is a big step up for you gearwise, so you may find you die a lot, and are quite low on DPS. Don't forget, the Eye is the 4th 25 man raid, and you've only got a few PvE items from Karazhan. Just make sure you spec PvE for it, and put your best PvE items on....

But it's a fun raid, enjoy it.

That'll give you the boss tactics. You'll need to know what is gonna happen.

On A'lar you will be taking the adds...
On Void Reaver you need to avoid the void ball things.
On Solarian you will need to make sure you run away from the group if you get the bomb...
And On Kael, well, theres lots you need to know on Kael.

But, there is also a lot of loot in there for you, all of it will be HUGE upgrades.

So just make sure you read up on the tactics, and do your best
