If you only had 5 spells

What whould they be? lets say spell points are not a problem and you can cast them at 7th circle. I would take Gardian Angel, Magic Screen, Missle Shield, Death Cloud, Mind Flay.

I prefer buff,protective,restorative spells rather than offensive spells.

Vague question.

If you mean to include that there will then remain in the game only items which contain one of those five spells, then i'd have to say X-Ray, Magic Screen, Death Cloud, and the Portals; if the Portals come as a set like they do when you pick on levelling, add Restoration.

If you mean there can only be five spells that anyone can cast (including instrument/gadget), but all the other items still exist, i'd say X-Ray, Quicksand, Mind Flay, and the Portals, adding maybe Rest All if the Portals are a set.

I was thinking more as a solo charactor. Potions and scrolls would still exist in the regular form.

Assuming late in the game so I don't have to worry as much about healing spells, I would say:

Sould Shield (I hate Insanity)
