Walk right up "into" Erathsmedor, say the magic word, wait for him to acknowledge it, and then try giving him the Shroud again.

Welcome to the board, Lord Spider!!!

When you open up the USE/GIVE window are you clicking on the "GIVE" that is in the bottom of that window?
You should probably have your choosen one, the one with the signet ring, give the shroud to Erathsmedor, but it doesn't matter if they are a human character or not.

Hope that helps!

Hi there,

Just put the shroud into the inventory of a character, preferably the one with the signet (not equiped, but in the bag). Then, get out of inventory screen and
press the use/give button. Make sure you're on "give" and then cycle through until you're at the shroud. Then, give the shroud to the dragon.

If that doesn't work and all else fails, you can still access the Mavin by killing the Dragon. Then, all the doors will open just like if you give him the shroud.

Good luck on your adventures.
