Oh, i have no problems with that. I must have spanish blood or something, i love a little siesta. When i lay down, it won't take long before i fall asleep, no matter what time it is. It happens a lot when i take a bath.

heh, I wish I had that. At nights it usually takes me about an hour before I'm able to sleep (if it's very cold in my room less, about half an hour).

hehe, I know, beer works, but I can't drink beer during the week ofcourse
So far it hasn't been a real problem, but during the summerholidays last year it was a real problem, because I had to sleep right away after working nightshifts from 8 till 8. I only had about 4 hours to sleep every day because of long traveltimes as well and dinner, so I usually got only 3 hours of sleep. You should have seen me. The las tfew days though I was so wrecked that I did sleep right away, espescially after a nice beer at nine in the morning |

Here is something I posted at the cafe last month. If you want more details pm me and I will try and email you some stuff "Being a shift worker who needs to be on top of his game at 4 in the morning during a 12 hour shift, the company gives us sleep training by experts. Giggle not my friends there actually is an institute of sleep. They strongly reccomend only using the bedroom for sleeping and *cough* lurvve. No distractions such as tv, computers ect should be allowed. This trains the mind to associate bed with sleep. This coupled with keeping the bedroom very dark and quite will allow over time any shift worker to sleep anytime of the day or night. Todays health report brought to you by our sponser.." Cloudy's cafe... coffee and smiles are our game" thankyou " Copyright cloudys cafe 20/2/03. |

Wellard that sounds like good advice. Alas I have tried it to no avail - I'm a perpetual insomniac and sometimes just cannot sleep. Mind you it doesn't help that I had to move all my birds into my bedroom because I'm painting other parts of the flat at the moment and they can't be exposed to the fumes. My parrot didn't sleep last night, and hence neither did I - he was climbing around in his cage and all I could hear was the clatter of claws and beak on metal. Then at dawn of course he starts shrieking to greet the day, the budgies join in and that's it, try sleeping with 3 birds squawking at you! He is so sweet though, he doesn't just scream, this morning he was telling me what a good boy he was too. Hard to ignore when he's being so cute. I'll try to get some more kip when they quieten down later today.
Anyway, I'm dead pleased about getting a flatmate - to be honest I like living alone, but I need some sort of income since I'm currently 'between jobs' LOL. Has to be done. I've also managed to get a bit of self-employed stuff decorating LOL. Here I am, qualified archaeologist, and I'm scraping by as a painter and decorator LOL. Let's just say that the field of archaeology is not exactly filled with employment opportunities at the moment!

Thanks Wellard, distractions can also be a problem yes, but I've had this from when I was little. My mother would check up on me late at night and noticed me laying in my bed with my eyes wide open. It's not sounds that are a problem, but thinking. I think too much.
Also I can't put the tv and pc somewhere else as I don't live on my own yet, so I have to do with the space given to me by my room. |

Good morning, Everyone. I would have slept fine, except for the horrendous thunderstorm that started about 4AM and woke everybody up, and they all wanted to be in our bedroom. I'll bet we got 3" of rain (nearly 8 cm.)
