Maybe you guys can help me out. One son is determined the game "knocks" (or is it "Knox"?) is a promising one and plans to get it tomorrow. His brother says he knows someone who has the game and it's just a sucky (his word) clone of Starcraft and not worth the disc space.

Which is it? I mean, we got Odium (was there any worse game?) and several others which rated right up there with elevator music and valium for snooze factor. I'd rather he not waste his money on a game he will hate (and will take up space on my hd!)

Never heard of Knox. Is it short for Anachronox? I think that's a combat oriented RPG.

EDITING: I can't spell

I think knox is probably Nox.

Here is the website for this game:

http://westwood.ea.com/games/nox/main_f.html

Hope this helps!

I never played it though!

I don't know about the game, Garnet, but here's a couple of suggestions:

1. Try to find it online and take a better look at it. Surely SOMEone has a discussion going on about it out there somewhere. (edit) SEE! And Mark is so FAST, too!

2. The ones that he has that have 'sucked' - sell them on eBay or half.com. I've done that with several 'mistakes', plus extra copies of movies and books I've ended up with.

If it IS Nox, then I would suggest NOT buying it unless you can get it for 10$ or something, it's NOT that great a game.

Maybe it is Nox. I spell it as it sounds to me in proper English (I have troubles with the spelling of Realms of "Kaos", too, but then again, I dislike that game severely )

And he said it's only about $10, which is still too much for a game that won't deliver, IMO. I'll go look at the demo/info.

DragonMage, thanks for the idea of getting rid of the icky games ::slaps forehead:: Should've thought of that one for myself! I was hoping to pawn them off on my nephew

Thanks guys!

OK, I found a review of Nox here:

http://www.pczone.co.uk (search for Nox, then scroll down the menu to find the review)

Doesn't look that good if you ask me, but might be OK.

My pointy hat's off to you guys!!! Went to both sites. Sounds like a better story than game. ::shrug:: I'll have the aforementioned son read your comments and then decide for himself.

But then when you get sick of playing all those big bad games... those down-to-earth games can really give a knack for players who have nothing to play... my friend is so like addicted to this game... hehehe it depends on your boredom level I suppose...
