I just started this game, and had two questions:

1) How do you sell items? When the merchant's window comes up, the cursor can scroll among the seller's items, but I can't get it over to my inventory window to sell anything. What am I doing wrong?

2) How do you drop items in inventory? The manual seems to say that the ALT key is used, but this doesn't work for me.

3) How do you distribute Learning Points? I take it that you need to find a trainer in the particular skill you want to upgrade? Or is it different?

The manual is lacking in most of these areas, or I just plain missed it! Any help here is appreciated.

Regards,
Michael

1. The seller's inventory window is on the left while your inventory is on the right. Move the cursor (blue box) all the way to the right and you can activate the action button (CTRL) to sell your stuff.

2. Open your inventory (default TAB button) and navigate the blue box with the cursor buttons (on your keyboard). Press ALT button to drop any item which is enclosed/highlighted by the blue box.

3. Yes, you must find a trainer to train your skills. Some skills requires 5 points to train up where as some can be train 1 points at a time. Please take note that the game is "balanced" in such a way that any group of combat discipline must have more or less equal proficiency or the game will "force" you to spnd more points to train up the other. Confuse? Read on:

For example... 1 handed weapon and 2 handed weapon are in the same group. If your 1 handed weapon is at 30% (fighter) and your 2 handed weapon is at 10% only (novice), each time you wish to train 1 point on 1 handed weapon, the game will force you to spend additonal point to train up 2 handed weapon as well.

Something like this:
1 Handed weapon 30% (fighter)
2 Handed weapon 10% (novice)

it will cost you 2 points to raise your 1 handed weapon, which will reslt in:
1 Handed weapon 31% (fighter) +1
2 Handed weapon 11% (novice) +1

BUT... it will only cost you 1 point to train up your 2 handed weapon up it reaches the same level as the 1 handed weapon.

1 Handed weapon 30% (fighter) unchanged
2 Handed weapon 11% (novice) +1

================================================== ===

Another example:
1 Handed weapon (35% fighter)
2 Handed weapon (50% master)

it will cost you 2 points to raise your 2 handed weapon, which will reslt in:
1 Handed weapon 36% (fighter) +1
2 Handed weapon 51% (novice) +1

However, if both the discipline is on the same level, there no "penalty" whatsoever:

================================================== =====

Final example:

1 Handed weapon (60% master)
2 Handed weapon (55% master)

it will cost you ONLY 1 points to raise your 2 handed weapon, which will reslt in:
1 Handed weapon 60% (fighter) unchanged
2 Handed weapon 56% (novice) +1

Or vise versa:
1 Handed weapon 61% (fighter) +1
2 Handed weapon 55% (novice) unchanged

================================================== ===========

Since your skill points are truly limited, you will have to decide which one is more suited to you and concentrade on it. For example:

2 Handed 100 % (master)
1 Handed 50% (master)

or

2 Handed 50 % (master)
1 Handed 100% (master)

================================================== ==========

There is no point for you to spend points in upgrading the proficiency for the weapon type that you don't use.

Example:

2 Handed 100 % (master)
1 Handed 60% (master)

Technically, the 10 points are "wasted" in the 1 handed weapon proficiency if you choose to play with 2 handed weapons.

A little bit of info:

2 Handed weapon - Highest damage, longer reach and slower attack speed.
2 Handed weapon - Lower damage, shorter reach and faster attack speed.

Frankly speaking, I am all out for 2 handed weapons.

I think I figured it out. I had changed the default keyboard controls, and this was screwing me up. Switching everything back to the defaults seems to have solved both keyboard problems.

Thanks for the assist!

Michael
