I got a copy of the Wiz 8 demo and played with it - for all of about 10 minutes. Then I had to stop because the game was literally making me sick.
It's a pity because I like what I see - the interface is *very* good & well-thought out, and it looks like there's a lot of depth in the game. But the on-screen movement of the party made me nauseous.

Err, any help on this??

your view may have been shifted up- or downwards looking at objects, mobs, etc. I frequently push the 5 on the keypad to recenter, because the tilted camera is kinda vertigenous. If that doesn't help, it may just be the motion itself. Ever play Doom?

Some people have a venerability to motion sickness (queasy stomach feeling) with 3D depictions on a PC screen. The older games like Doom really brought this to their attention.

Things to check, the refresh rate on your monitor, is it set to at least 75Hz? Try placing the monitor closer/further away from where you're sitting. Try different lighting arrangements in the room with the computer.

Hope this helps.

Yes, or rather, tried to, all those years ago. Couldn't, for the same reasons (wanted to puke after 10 mins).

Some folks simply cannot handle a first person view that moves with much speed. Be warned that Morrowind and MM-9 are mouse-look types, and MM-9 even has a built-in "head bob" motion (may be turned off on an options page). Before giving up completely on the two best of the three (Morrowind & Wiz-8), locate a friend who has the full game and try resetting various options, such as Mouse Speed and whatever else may affect the view. As noted before, if your video adapter and display offer higher refresh rates than the usual, be sure those have been activated.

poor you.
yeah its wierd. i can play doom/quake/wiz8 for hours on end, and suffer nothing except slightly tired eyes from staring at the screen for so long.

there isnt really any cure, except taking frequent breaks and every minute or so sitback and look around. try to play in an open room, lots of fresh air...

heres an interesting link u might wanna read:
www.loonygames.com/content/1.2/feat/index2.shtml
hope it helps.

if not... you will have to go back to playing PONG.

Try the above suggestions before you write off a game and deprive yourself of the available hours of entertainment.

Of course, there's always Dramamine ) It can't be any worse than the large amounts of caffiene that gamers usually down.
