i actually killed him about an hour ago [img]smile.gif[/img] . funny thing is, i'm also a spellcaster, level 14 half-elven sorcerer to be exact. i even had to kill him twice, the first time i did it the game froze on me before i had a chance to save

anyway, here's how i did it... pre-fight preparations include only stoneskin and mage armor on everyone in my 'party' - linu, my pet pixie and a summoned skeleton chieftin.
first attempt - he kills me without too much trouble as i had only a limited number of spells left. i reload and rest to regain spells...
second attempt - i summon him and immediately cast tenser's transformation. linu casts harm on him and it works!!!, takes him from 150 hp down to 1

. i just whack him once and it's over... i'm still laughing at it, when the game freezes... AAAAARGH!
third attempt - again, i use tenser's transformation right after summoning him and we all just start pounding. i get in two hits and the skeleton adds another to take the demon down to injured. tenser's wears off so i recast it, but noone manages to hit him before it wears off again. soon linu and the pixie are dead, i'm near death, so i teleport to the temple to regroup. with linu and my familiar back, i recast tenser's and enter the portal to continue the fight. i hit the demon once before tenser's wears off and linu and the skeleton both add a hit, so now he's badly injured. i cast my last tenser's and charge back in, scoring two criticals in quick succession that finally finish the job. hurray! [img]smile.gif[/img] . a quicksave to make the demon's death 'permanent' and we move on to the hords of fire elementals...

Your not suposed to kill him, your suposed to get him to admit that he was behind the killing of the children, if you read all the clues and use both wands like you should you will sumon the demon and he will be under your control and he will give you his written oath.

yeah, i figured out it would be something like that when i delivered my judgment. oh well... a guy that slaughters innocent children deserves punishment, no matter what the circumstances might have been...

Yes but you would expect Belial to be strong and powerful, seeing as Belial is Satan, or at least is another name for Satan, The Devil, The Anti-Christ......

My level 4 Fighter/level 7 Paladin slaughtered Belial with no trouble. I had this ring from Helm's Hold that lowered the amount of fire damage I took by 15 points, and a Greater Swordsman's Belt that lowers the slashing damage I take by 20 points a hit.

It was a LONG fight because I had a horrible time hitting him, but between Knockdown and a few critical hits I killed him without any trouble.

I killed him (just to see if I could) with my lvl 13(?) fighter

any +3 weapon can hurt him (I had found sword of Corellan, two-bladed sword+3) - so he went down quite easily (for 339 xp)

through items I was protected from poison, disease, death magic, mind attacks, lvl drain, and had 15/- fire, acid, electricity, ice resist and have regeration.

Then I reloaded and got the information - even though I don't really need it - you get enough info from the journals.
