It's random if you get it. Mosts treasures are randomly generated, based on your class, level and feats. So if you have weapon focus and stuff in longswords you may be more likely to get it but it's still random. Like I said, I found 2 daystars and a gladiator blade in chests but no Angurvadel

Actually i think that some treasures are generated depending on what you do as well... e.g. the Dwarf in the Neverwinter wood who poisined the spirit, he ALWAYS has one reasonably good item on his body when he died, like the Dragon Slippers, the Shukerjana (or wateva) helm etc. and it depended on what you said as to what you got, If you succeded in all the Persaudes first shot you got the Dragon Slippers etc.
So I guess there are certain places in the game where there are different possibilities... so Angruvadel is propably in one of those places. |

Yes exactly. There are certaian boss chests which automatically give you a really good item appropriate for your level, but it's still random what it is exactly. A fighter will get a weapon or armor, a wizard will get a wand, a monk will get special monk item etc. So theres no one spot where you can get a particular weapon like Angurvadel. You just have to hope you find it.

i'm a scimitar man but they are close to longswords so...
I've found three decent scimitars, first is the Desert Wind +2 you can make in chapter 3, it does d6 +2 plus d10 fire damage. I also found a Laughing Blade +2. it does d6 +2, 1 cold, plus 50% chance of confusion for 2 rounds on hit. and the best one ive found so far is the Scimitar of Speed +3. it does d6 +3, plus d10 sonic, plus has haste which adds 4 to your ac. Im still hoping to get some duplicates of Drizzt's scimitars though
