Good bassists are a bit difficult tempered... they always were...

Chet is good and so is mr. Knopfler - we have a few good danish ones like Jørgen Ingemann (retired) (just adding my 2 cents)

Was listening to the radio on my way in this morning and they were talking to the lead guitarist/lyrisist(sp) for Journey. Neil something-or-the-other...and he was saying at the ripe old age of 15 we was asked by both Santana and Eric Clapton to join their bands can you imagine. I guess I don't follow music closily enough as I have never heard of this guy, but I do know Clapton and Santana...so this guy must be good!

LOL I was afraid to answer his question because I was pretty sure he was some techno guy, and definitely not a guitarist now I know for sure...

I´m glad to hear that you like Adam Jones from Tool, Azurewolf. I saw them play two times this summer (Roskilde in Denmark and Hultsfred Sweden). And i must say that is was incredible. Very hard to believe that they are only four guys on stage.

I must say I cannot go past The Edge - Dave Evans. Other guitarists have greater mobility, and are freer with their instruments - that goes without question. - but Evans has a niche, a dedication to sounds and melodic/rhythmic parts that gives him an unmistakable "voice" and define a song, an album. He is a true craftsman and sonic sculptor.

Django Reinhardt is another - albiet on another spectum entirely - taking a disability and surpassing lesser mortals. His and violinist Stephane Grappellis melodic intertwinings are simple breathtaking.

Morodin, Journeys guitarist is/was/whatever Neil Schonn (spelling?) the only one in the band any good lol. He put out an albumn WAY (1984 or so) back with Sammy Hagar, and a couple others accomplished musicians that was very good.
Guess nobody got my Johny Bravo joke oh well

LMAO LoA!
Johnny Bravo was Greg Brady huh?

I just got Eric Johnson's Alien Love Child/Live And Beyond and his Venus Isle CD's this morning. The Live CD is not bad although some of it sounds too much like a practice session or just a jam session. I guess seeing it done live would make hearing it an experience but I like some methodical flow to music.
I am just putting Venus Isle into the CD player so I have no set views on it other than I am looking forward to hearing it.
