I get a really weird message sometimes when I try to enter a couple of areas. I wrote down the message exactly, here is what it says:
An assertion failed in D:\Dev\Baldur\Infinity.cpp at line number 1692 Programmer says: Demand for WED file failed It happened first when I tried to enter the Friendly Arm Inn. I uninstalled then reinstalled the game. Same thing happened. I copied my saves and completely deleted the game and all folders. Reinstall it, copy my saves back in, it works just fine. Now, I try to go to the Red Sheaf Inn, and it happens there too. As you can guess, the game closes when this happens. I've been able to gather (with help from my techie brother) that the game is looking for a file in the game's code, a C++ file, that it can't find. I downloaded the patch for the game but it didn't change anything. I'm currently looking for all of the places that this will happen in, but so far all I've found that will fail now is the Red Sheaf Inn. Now, the Red Sheaf Inn isn't a big thing to lose, but I've noticed that these kinds of problems tend to spread, and rather quickly, so I'd REALLY appreciate any help you can give me. Does it to me sometimes. I just reboot the game, and away I go.

sorry Jafin, I can't help much, but I would say reboot, or reinstall mightdo it.

I tried rebooting, reinstalling, all of that good stuff but it just wouldn't work. HOWEVER, I solved the problem !!! The expansion came in the mail today and when I installed it, everything worked like a charm! I'm liking the expansion pretty well so far, especially since everything works, and even better than before.
Thanks for the advice! -Jafin ------------------ I am Jafin, arch-mage of the HADB clan! |

Did you do a full-install or do you swap disks? Many problems have been solved by giving the disks a good cleaning (if you're swapping, that is)
