MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

I recently heard that the Red Dwarf film is going to be a prequel to the series. I have just been looking at the films cast and Danny John-Jules(Cat) and Robert Llewellyn(Kryten) both appear in it, even so they shouldn't be at this time, so my theory is that it is either going to be time travel storyline or they are going to play different characters, what are your theories?

P.S I hope Ace Rimmer makes an appearence

Ha I watch it all the time an I am American. In answer to your question they might do some sort of flash backs so they would need them. Even if they are using old clips maybe

i'm Canadian, and i LOVE it. i really don't care how they do it, as long as it's good and remains true to the episodes.

You know im surprised the only people who have replied so far are none english, I didn't realise how popular it was out of the UK.

As for the movie it seems most people haven't heard about it yet so here's a link to the official site (There isn't a whole lot of info on there)

Cat was an evolution between Dave's revival and the death of the crew. It could easily be something happening beforehand followed by something after the crew are gathered

Bearing in mind that Kryten was picked up partway through the series though, I reckon it'll be some time travel shenanigans
