Actually none of my characters will let me "use" the flamequencher wand, so therefore I cant shove it in the keyhole to get the Staff of ash, it's a real bummer, anyone know why none of my characters can use it, I have Mage, Alchemist, Priest, Ninja, Samusai, Fighter, RFS-81, (Vi just left) =(

Ive tried equiping it as the weapon, which brings it up in the usable equipment list, except its red and says when I try to use it, can not use this item right now, What is going on?

I had a problem with that, too. First try. I think you are not quite in the near enough position. The flame quencher wand should do it for you. You don't need anything else.

Oops, you have to have someone who can use the wand. This could be a problem.

Did you try clicking on it in your inventory to pick it up and then, leaving the personal menu, clicking it on the keyhole?

Thanks a heap ziggurat, picking it up in the inventory, exiting the inventory and clicking on the keyhole with it worked, usually you just "use: keys for opening doors and stuff, pretty mean of the game designers to change it for this one, thanks and I cant believe I hadn't tried that. I slap myself in the face.

And also, when you become an initiate templar,
I had to fiddle with the badge and the distance from the slot quite a while to get the Temple
gate to Al-Sexedus open.
