It works it works!
I bought the Audigy 2, for $130, and made sure that all the old Live software was removed even from the registry. Then I started a game and I have no problem whatsoever! It is perfect! Yeah!!!!!!! I am ready to battle villians and foes again!

hmmm. i too have sb 5.1 and had that prob too but before playing the game. when i started playing i fiddled with the audio option and set it to 4 speakers rather than 2. that seemed to fix my regular prob outside of the game. you might also want to try fiddling with the advanced options of your volume control thingy in the system tray. that fixed my prob with my lcd speakers which works now. woo hoo! did a little dance. that made me a happy man.
