I am not understanding this "Golem" thing.

I notice 2 levels druid in the mix, are you shape shifting into something ? I thought druids couldn't shape shift until level 5 ?

And My Tensors transformation sticks me with a "tensors sword" and doesn't let me use equipment. Does a druid's shape shift let you use equipment ?

What's this whole golem thing ? It sounds like a shape shift of some kind but I am not catching on here.

I'm a big fan of my evil assassin - Muricho, the Evil Ranger(9)/Rogue(11)

There is no trap he can't disarm, his AC is respectable even without any armour, with cloaks of protection and his insane dexterity score. Any unbashable container, he can pick it. He dual weilds with improved two-weapon fighting, using small weapons and weapon finesse for an insane attack line. With his longbow he is a dead shot, sniping and melting into the shadows when spotted.

In a tight spot, he can take recourse to his magical scrolls or wands, or rely on his Robes Of The Shining Hand (Use magical item) to keep him safe.

He'll creep up behind you, and whack off (!) a few sneak attacks (+6d6 damage) before you can even blink.

He's a cool character, all in all. I don't have his exact stats right now, but you should be able to see what a force he is. Anyway, the most important thing is that he's *exceptionally* fun to play - and that's the main thing.

One of the great things about NWN is the creativeness in the presentation of a character be it a cross-class of whatever you want to imagine. This character's attribute's were selected to be a Iron Golem when shapechanged. An honor given to one after a milestone is reached within one's culture.
An honor of this one's culture is to bestow upon the warrior a shapechange rod (from the toolset ) to use in time's of danger. I don't think any class restrictions are on the shapechange rod but I wouldn't want to try to take it away from him.

The shapechanging really helps character's with very few hit points and armor class. You don't need much equipment if you plan on a shapechanging character because it cancel's out personal gear. Although if you cast your protection spells and then rage before shapechanging it adds to your total hit point base.

I hope this make's sense for you and battle on!

Lv 1 fighter lv 19 Wiz... Good AC to survive against fighters... and what can i say... i beat the snot out of clerics any day... sweap aside the defenses and then pound them ! Shadow shield and spell mantle makes the clerics spells go poff and smack(Yes i know they get dispelled easily...)An occasional Maximised Vampiric touch unless the cleric has set up Negative energy protection to restore life a bit... It's easy... Wizzies are the most versatile class in NWN and i just LOVE playing it ! It's the best for RP and for PvP ! How people can like fighters is beyond me... how much fun is it not to take part in the battle and just watch your stats do the work ?!?!?

Bards rule everything.

My lv. 20 Bard was hacking things left right and centre with his dual longswords with his song and spell buffing. And apart from being a more than deccent fighter (he could go toe-to-toe with everyone I met in the game) he can cast scrolls. Can anyone say timestop? It's horrible... I had dragons and balors dying without touching me.

Although, a Level 1/19 Wizard/Monk would me even more devastaing, in that respect.

I'm sure most know about this, but I was a bit surprised by it. When I was playing around with 20th level combos, I noticed that Neverwinter Nights uses a simplified save system for the classes. I had a 19 level Cleric with the 20th level spent as a Bard. Now, besides the fact that I was able to get 23 ranks of Use Magic Items and as a result would be able to use just about any magic item available, I also got a nice 6 point boost to my Reflex saves (oh and a tiny lore boost and a little tune to whistle.) Now whether or not losing a level of Clericdom is worth 3 Lightning Reflexes is up for debate.

This also kind of explained something I noticed with my 10/10 Fighter Wizard who had really good saves (although his Reflex saves were boosted by high dex.)

I haven't played PVP that much but I would guess these points could make a difference if some Wizkid with an INT boosted into the 30's whipped out some insta-death spell.

D'oh! Me am moron. Looks like I was wrong about that simplified save thing. I was checking the Fighter/Cleric's saves not the the Fighter/Bard. And the saves were only high because that Fighter/Cleric was an experiment in a Dex, dual-wield Cleric, so the saves were inflated by Lightning Reflexes and a high Dex.

Oh well, it was fun while my delusion lasted.

The Use Magical Item angle might still be interesting, however. Could use Mage scrolls and Wands, and some of those wacky Monkey items, which leads me to think of a level of Rogue/Bardism for a Wizard, although they get some nice Robes and probably wouldn't need the Monk items.
