1) Yes, you get to pick the spells
2) Whayever bodes best with your weapons and kit. A Berserker doesn't need super good armour cause he's already super strogn with beserk etc. 3) No clue 4) Depends. Helm of Bladuran is good for me though 5)If your character is weak in the hp and ac quality, shield is better, but ifs he ok with thoose, twohand sword woudl be my choice 6) Cloak of Mirroring, Ring of Gaxx

You get to pick the spells Maxamus ??
Edwin's a mage, not a sorcerer, you can pick his spells too. And no, i dont think its possible to make a mage as powerfull as Edwin ... Edwin is a specialist mage, which gives him 1 extra spellslot per level ... And he has his necklace, which grants him 2 extra spells per level, this means he gets 3 extra spells per level, compared to a "normal" mage.

So thats what that Necklace was for. Ok then, Edwin woudl be better. I was saying, instead of having to find spells and script them, yuo could had from the beginning, but edwin has a ton of spells lots, so yeah, edwin woudl probably be better

Well I suppose you can't ever memorize as many spells as edwin but you can be better than him in other ways if you have been though BG 1 and read all of the Tomes with a 19 intelligence you can write all of the spells at one time with no limit per level edwin can't do that without help from an Ioun Stone or such. More than anything I think it's the satisfation for me that it is a mage that I created. Or try a sorcerer I think that they are better than edwin.

I liked Helmet of Balduran too. The best cloak I would say is the Cloak of Reflection(makes you practicaly immune to offensive magic, like magic missile and such), I personally like the Ring of Regeneration. Bracers of Lightning Strike are cool too and Girdle of Frost Giant Strength is a good way to improve a fighters dammage and thaco. I am usualy playing a fighter-type, so bear that in mind.
I prefer to either dual-weild weapons, or use a sword and shield combo instead of a two-handed sword. I don't think the two handed swords are that good. Their extra damage is not really that good considering that you can't use a shield with them. Exept if I am playing paladin, Carsomyr is always worth it.

1. IMO, yes.
2. IMO, the Drow Full Plate is the best. Too bad it only lasts in the Underdark, though.;( 3. No 4. I would say the Helm of Balduran. YOu get it early in the game, and it defends you well. 5. IMO, no. With Sword and Shield, you are better defensive, but with a Two-Handed Sword, you are better offensive. So it's really a question of if you like to be offensive or defensive. 6. IMO: Best Girdle: Girdle of Frost Giant Strength Best Gauntlets: Gauntlets of Weapon Expertise Best Cloak: Cloak of Reflection Best Ring: Ring of the Ram Best Necklace: Amulet of Seldarine (from the top of my head) Remember that all the answers to your questions will probably vary from person to person. |
