Why would they put these bracers in the game when
the Gaunlets of Crushing are way superior in my opinion?
Is there some advantage I am missing?

Tzu-Zan's Bracers
+1 AC
+15 maximum hit point total

Gaunlets of Crushing
+4 THACO with fists
+4 Damage with fists

Well, I think I agree with you. The Gauntlets of Crushing seems more powerful.
Maybe the Tzu-Zans Bracers are so highly sought-after because they add 15 HP?

see ya!

Jan took a liking to them

They'd be great for Haer'Dalis too.

Or any other rogue with Use Any Item

Well they are two differnet things, one Tzu-Zans are defensive with the added armor class and hit points, and the gauntlets of crushing are offensive, with the bonus to thaco and damage, so it matter who youd want to out them on. If you want someone who charges into the battle to deal out damage, give them the gauntlets of crushing or you could give them Tzu-Zans for the extra protection, yet if the character stays in the backround give them the Tzu-Zans. or if a character is lacking in either offensive or defensive traits, pump them up with the appropriate gauntlets. Or thats what id do

i'm assuming Tsu Zans is just there for people that either
A) start a game with a monk only in TOB
B) they missed the gauntlets of crushing (poor people )
