Does anybody know the adress of the ref and his linesmen in our match agains Brasil ? I wonna send them a pair of binoculars or a seeing eye dog . I still remember Blatters words after the first round. 'We're going to see more upsets.' With those kind of referees, he's terribly wrong. How can there be upsets if the refs choose to ignore legal goals from the so called 'lesser team' ? On the other hand, he's right because you're seeing a very upset Belgian here.
Shees, now i have to root for the team i thought i never would rooted for again after Platt's goal a few years back. Ah well, GO ENGLAND. And on another note. I want to suggest a change in the rules. If Germany plays, the opposing team should be allowed to play with 22. 11 men and 11 women. Gives the opposition something to do while the Germans have the ball to fight boredom .

Every World Cup it is the same thing - referees without enough international experience getting picked because no nation can have more than one referee present. FIFA needs to pick the best referees instaed of taking geografical conciderations.
Not that it will happen - unfortunately

I do not know why soem fo you think the US beating mexico is an upset since 1990 we have a winning record aganist them 9-3-6.
To bad about Belgium I was hoping they would win. They showed that disallowed goal from a bunch of angles I still did not see a foul nor did the commentators. Well Germany is up next after watching them play Georgio Cannalia ( i think I spelled his name wrong) thinks we should have no problem with them. [ 06-17-2002, 03:48 PM: Message edited by: Lanthir ]

hahaha, you're a funny girl Lanthir, but i think US playtime is over now. I truly think they will be the next worldchampions. Not that i want them to, i'll be cheering for you guys but i think they are too strong. The Americans need to watch out for one thing: they'll try to bore you to death and then score a goal in the 88th or 89th minute, they do that all the time. Be warned.

Last of the 2nd stage matches today: Japan v Turkey & S Korea v Italy.
They each have home ground advantage (Japan & S Korea). Methinks Jpan will probably squeak thru' to the quarter finals by a one-goal margin against Turkey. Korea-Italy is a toss-up. Normally I'd predict Italy to go thru' but I've not been too impressed with their standards of play this tournament. S Korea otoh are really inspired. Oh well in about 12 hrs time all will be clear... |
