Hi
When u r a hafling for instance it says prefered class rouge determining xp penalty counts for multiclass or something like that. What does this mean? Does it mean i can have a level 6 rouge and 1 wizard multiclass and not suffer an xp loss?

When determining xp penalties for multiclass characters level differences between two classes are ignored if (a)one of the classes is in a preferred class or (b) one of the classes is a prestige class. In your example, the rogue class would be ignored for determining xp penalties. If you had built a halfing fighter/wizard howeer, the 6/1 split WOULD induce an xp penalty. Hope that clarifies things.
