Staff of the Magi
This type of staff is thoroughly linked of the image of the spellcasting profession, rare though it is. It is among the most powerful tools that a wizard can possess, the culmination of complex enchantment and endless study. This particular example is good in melee, grants Invisibility, and offers protection from Charms and Evil. It can also cast a Spell Trap, launch a Fireball-Lighting Bolt combination, and Dispel Magic. The quintessential mage item. STATISTICS Armor Class: +2 bonus Saving Throws: +2 bonus Equipped Abilities: Invisibility Immunity to Charm Protection From Evil Fireball-Lightning Damage: combined lightning and fireball damage Range: 150 feet Use: Three times a day Abilities: Trap Spell Duration: 8 hours or until 30 spell levels have been trapped Use: Once a day Combat Ability (each hit): Dispel Magic THAC0: +1 bonus (strikes as a +5 weapon) Damage: 1D6 +1 Damage type: crushing Weight: 4 Speed Factor: 4 Proficiency Type: Quarterstaff Type: 2-handed Requires: 5 Strength Usable By Mages I dunno where you get it, someone important I'm sure (irenicus, kangaax etc)

If youre a sorceror or a mage its the uberstaff to use.
It grants you permant Invisibility and Protection from evil. It also contains a very powerful version of spelltrap that you can use once per day. Theres other modifications as well that I cannot remember at the moment. You will find it in the(spoiler) - - - - - - - - - Twisted rune. To get there, you will first of all need a rouge stone. When you got one go to the docks district. Find the house just below the Tanner shop. Theres two entrances. Take the southern one. The other one will lead to a lich. Now when youre inside you will find yourself in another plane. Prepare for a quite tough battle as people seem to rate this fight as the toughest in the game. The wizard that casts timestop>Gate will drop the Staff of Magi when killed

The Staff of the Magi is THE most powerful weapon in the game, bar none.
It can win you 90% of the battles if used anywhere near its full extent. |

Yeah, it can also be one of the lamest weapons in the game as well. Every time you equip it you become INVISIBLE.
So you can attack, hit, then click the weapon icon and make yourself invisible again. You can kill almost any enemy like this. If one of your opponents casts true sight or can otherwise see invisible creatures, you'll be wanting the cloak of non-detection. But I'm not going to spoil you on that

it is indeed a very powerfull weapon (maybe rather OVER-powerd I think) but okay its a though battle (2 days ago faced them again so... ) for such a battle you want a nice trinket as reward... staff of the magi makes up 4 that I think... just like the ring of gaxxx, also a very hard battle (without the cheese) for such a powerfull item.
