i think anicent lore is also available in the theif guild. makes some sense, for a rogue to have merchant AND ancient lore.

1. Of course you can. You can learn and use any skill you want. No skill excludes any other skills.
2. Yes, the thieves guild offers the trait and the skill at guild level 3 - but only to thief classes. If you are a barbarian and a level 3 member of the guild then the trait and the skill will be offered to you. If you are a paladin and a level 3 member of the guild then the trait and the skill will NOT be offered to you.

Of course you can learn them both Olli . To be able to bless an item you also need the cabalist trait. The bless skill determines how many blessings you can cast on an item. You also need some artifact spells, for instance "Artifact of Spirit". Items that can be blessed? Almost everything: swords, axes, armor, amulettes, boots etc.

You only have to identify the item initially, Olli. After that, you immediately know what it is when you bless or enchant it. Heck, you even get to name it!
And if you haven't seen it in the best tips thread, there's a trick to identifying cheaply. Group all related items on the same character (say, short swords). Pay to have one identified, and all similar ones are identified. Then you can sell off the others for the normal gold price. As you've probably noticed, you get more for a fully identified item than for one that's unknown; the difference in cost happens to be the amount you get charged to identify the item. If you have the merchant trait, that's not the case (you can still make a profit), but without it, you have to have a second item in order to turn a profit.
