If I do a custom install on BG and TotSC, and check all the components you can install, is it possible for me to play without actually having to switch the CD's every time I play?
Like, in BG2, you can do a full installation, so you don't have to switch the CD's. Is there such a thing in BG?

Good question. I didn't pay attention as I installed the game. I have to switch the CD's. That's pretty annoying.

Yes, if you install all 3.5gb of Bg1, you can play with only 1 CD.

I tried to do that, but the BG1 installation program cannot detect more than 2GB free space on my HD, eventhough I got plenty of 'room'.

How do you 'trick' the installer into accepting that you have enough disk space?

Theres a bug in windows (shock. horror.) This one means that if it reports a value greated than 4Gb for free space, it will give the wrong number. 4.01 Gb would return as 0.01 Gb , 8.2 reports as .2 and so on.

Waste 2gb of space, and the installer should report 3.9 odd Gb which is enough for installation. Easiest way to waste space is to make extra copies of some large file or other.
