Hey Fellow Ironworkers,

I got a problem with my new USB Hub.

I bought one of these and it works great its just when the computer shuts down that the problems occur.

It is plugged into a USB2.0 PCI card. When the PC is shut down the HDD, Power and CD Rom lights are still lit up. Then if I press the power button nothing... it won't start up.

If I then Unplug the PC from the wall and disconnect this Hub (which is powered as well), and then plug the PC back in it works fine.

This has got me confused beyond all measure and I can't figure out whats going wrong.

The USB 2.0 card works fine with everything else (i.e camera, ipod, mouse) and my 1.1 USB ports that are on my motherboard work fine. its just this powered hub that seems to be giving me problems.

Any ideas......

my usb hub is poor also, it keeps telling me that the power usage has become too great whan i plug my Ipod into the hub. even when nothing else is plugged into the hub.

did you have to install anything when you bought the hub? there may be issues with software?

No their was no drivers required for the hub.

The USB PCI card is running on XP drivers..... It seems to be a hardware rather than software issue to me.

This is so frustrating!!!!!!
