I can't beat those crazy 5 demon knights in the kou-tua cave! I can kill one, but they cast these spells on me and would beat the crap out of me even without them. I have a half-orc fighter, Minsc, Anomen, Keldorn, Arie and Imoen. I want that armor of hart, sword +4, and girdle. I can probably beat them with resit fear and prt. magic weapons, but i haven't tried..

Welcome to the forum. Resist fear helps, but so does Protection from Evil 10 Radius, which both Aerie and Anomen should have.

Also, Anomen should have Defensive Harmony. Haste definitely comes in handy. Maybe summon a few animals and/or monsters for Fodder. If you have the Mercykiller Ring, Imoen can try to set traps. Just rest outside of the room to make sure any "Encountered Enemies" don't set them off.

I also cast Bless and Chant on my party...but I never knew if that helped. Also, if you don't have Resist Fear as a mage spell, Aerie and Anomen have Remove Fear, which is like Resist Fear anyway.

Try? Welcome to IronWorks!!

I find them rock hard as well, although everything i read about them seems to say they're easy! The best method I've found is to leave your party away in the main area, send one hasted character in, then leg it back out. That usually draws just one or two of them out which makes it much easier to take them down. Liberal use of Lower Resistance will also help I should think, your mages will be able to give you a much more effective hand after that.

I think it depends on the party as well. The person has a good party going for them at least.

And I forgot, Sunray is a good cleric spell that helps here. In fact, using the Daystar Longsword's Sunray in conjunction with Anomen's memorized Sunray (If he has it) helps, especially with a pause feature to allow them to cast it at the same time.

Just make sure there's some nifty Restoration scrolls available.

It might also be a good idea to do negative plane protection (especially if you don't have access to the higher level spells yet) on as many people as you can.

Also, summons will help distract them--both Anomen and Aerie should be able to summon at least skeletons if not better (think Aerial Servants, etc).

I would also strongly suggest killing the Prince (if you haven't already) and putting the bracers of blinding strike on Minsc or yourself, dual-wielding (with Kundane or Belm of the extra hits) and then casting Improved Haste from the Item.

Improved Haste on any melee fighter would be a good idea if Aerie or Imoen can cast it.

Don't forget, Holy Smites are your friend, and you have two casters who can do it--I don't remember how good their magic resistance is, but it's worth a shot.

Failing that, Melf's Minute Meteors will probably help from the spellcasters as well and I highly highly recommend remove fear on everyone (the cleric version lasts a long time--don't remember how long the arcane version lasts) because panic is deadly around these monsters.

Welcome to IW!

If you've got the Mace of Disruption +1 or the Mace of Disruption +2, then now is the time to use it.

indeed, though he has a point...MoD+2 grants Negative Plane Protection while wielded, so Minsc could bash with that and not get level drained...

These knights have one weakness, they are slow. They have a really high MR and have slow but powerful attacks. Therefore, get anomen and aerie to cast barkskins on minsc and your guy.

If you really want to beat them, just use some of your High Level Abilities (HLA's). Fighters greater whirlwind (with chaotic commands to stop nasty spells) and get aerie to use Level 10 spells from her HLA list. Dragon's breath works wonders Also, summon a deva/ planater and haste and mass invisible them with aerial servants and they should make short work of them.

Jaheria could also ironskin herself then go in and nail them all.

JUST REMEMBERED--> They use +1 swords right? Arent planetars and deva immune to +1 weapons?

It doesn't sound like his party is high enough to summon planetars/devas or to have that many HLA's if it's a party of six having difficulty with the demon knights (although I agree that a planetar/deva would be a great summon to try if you've got one).

Negative plane protection is key. Also, try setting up some type of defensive position protecting Aerie and Imoen, even Anomen, so that they can cast without being disrupted. You, Minsc, Keldorn, and a few skeletons should be enough to hold off the demon knights long enough to get in a few holy smites.
