Grey Davis said he would not show up for the Gubernatorial debate today if the LA Times(the hosts of the debate) allowed the Green Party candidate to be in the audience. Nice job Davis, what a dork

The governors race here in CA this year is truly a choice between tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum. Simmons is a non-voting, non-tax paying businessman convicted of fraud. And Davis pulls stunts like this and cowtows to his contributors.

almost enough to drive me not to vote in the race this year.

Sorry

Grey Davis(D) is the current governor of California. Bill Simon(R) is the other 'major' party canidate up for the job.

The governorship of California is important on a national level has it has been a frequent stepping stone to the White House.

Is it a growing trend in the USA that elections are contests between two equally undesireable choices? I just seem to have seen alot of people recently saying "They're both as bad as each other" on a whole range of elections, all the way up to the Presidential level.

Well writng from the People's Republic of New Jersey, we say screw the law and let's put in another candidate 36 days before our senatorial election because ours is behind in the polls and he drops out. Primaries mean nothing anymore. The NJ Supreme Court decided to re-write the law even though that is the legislative branch's power and responsibility.

With all the election irregularities lately I think the UN should start sending international observers to make sure US elections are free and fair, lol

You have a convict on the ballot? How will he serve if he were to win?

And umm Im no Gray Davis fan, but uhhh isn't he being just a tad childish about the greens? Im not a big fan of them either but...geez, they have a right to debate like everyone else.

Probably afraid that the Greens will take away traditionally Democratic votes - so that the Rebublican candidate will win. Just like at the Presidential Election. (Well the Democrats had to blame someone )

I was being a little too broad in my comments. He (Simon) was not convicted of fraud personally, but the company he runs was. He is also being investigated for using possibly illeagal overseas tax shelters in the Caymen Islands.
