If you are coming to the end of SoA and thinking (as you should be) of continuing the adventure with ToB, think carefully about the timing of the installation for the follow-on. There are (without spoiling anything) some important and valuable benefits to be gained just before the final battle, and if you do not already have ToB installed by this stage you will not get a chance to import a save to start ToB once the battle has started. So install ToB at the very latest as soon as you get into the 9 Hells, and when you complete SoA you will automatically go on to ToB *With all the benefits intact*.Otherwise you might have to do what I did and backtrack over many nights work to go back and fight the final battle again. And do install the Bioware patch for ToB if you are running on Windows XP.
Leo.

Heck, if you have it, install ToB from the get-go. It has some nice benefits, not the least of which is the new Watcher's Keep dungeon for SoA (the BG2 equivalent of Durlag's Tower in BG1), and all sorts of new powers for ALL your characters, including NPC's...after they get to a certain level, of course.

Shouldn't this be in the ToB forum, though?

install tob if only to protect the weak that fell becasue of you! uh what i mean to say is; u can get a potions csae ealry; from whacteres keep; and its makes a world of diff in ur inventory space. u can also pick up cool items. hell if u *really* want to; make a char in TOB; save it then start SOA, cause u start off at a higher lvl. lol.

I'm for keeping this in the BG2 forum as well, as it's important to BG2 players: If you install ToB and load up a Final-Save from the last battle of BG2, your character will NOT be as cool. Install ToB prior to the last fight to experience coolness.

I'm cool with it being in the forum. It's really Memnoch's call anyway; I just wasn't sure what the precedent on it wsa. I tend to agree, I'm all for loading ToB with SoA and playing it all the way through.

Plus, you get to do Watcher's Keep while still in SoA and get a lot of goodies.

Well Im almost done with ALL the quests in chapter 2, im NOT gonna restart again. Ill install ToB now and see whatever happens. Else Ill cast timestop and play through SoA&ToB without 'wasting' precious time. Else Ill cheat my way until where Iam now, although that would require large quantities of liquor, cuz it sux playing a game this big the beginning only 3 three times in a row.
