Hi everyone,
I want to start getting into fantasy novels and was hoping for a little advice on which books you guys have really enjoyed reading. I've been told to try some books by R.A. Salvatore (I'm quite tempted by the Icewind Dale series). Any advice you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated |

Elaine Cunningham. RA Salvatore's stuff never changes. His villains are mostly unbelieveable and tedious, and Drizzt is an uber-super-anally-retentive boring superhero. In contrast, EC's stuff is well-thought out. Ed Greenwood also has the Uber-powerful boring character syndrome.

Or if you wish to get away from Drizzit and friends and some different stories. Try a few from the Harper series.
Might be a few spoilers. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/cg...=001015#000000 [ 12-19-2003, 03:12 PM: Message edited by: pritchke ] |
